Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Final Drawing Term 1 2021

 Last month we began our cubism Protraits based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art. In cubism you can play around with lots of shapes. The facial features like your eyes, nose, mouth and ears can be diffrent shapes and places. We did two practice drawings before completing our final Product. ( you can read my blogs with the steps and pictures hereMy is my First Picassio #1 ).  Something I noticed was playing around with the shapes and that we could put the nose, eyes, mouth and nose anywhere. Something I found diffcult was drawing and doing the shapes. Do you know that Pablo Picasso has a long name (  Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso )

For this picture I wanted to focus on try to out line it propely.  Here is my final.

Grammer Practice - Collective Nouns Activity 1&2 Term 1 2021

R.E Year 6 Soul Friends Day TErm 1 2021

On the 17th of March it was St. Patrick day and Soul Friends day. We were doing a mass for St. Patrick day, Souls friends day and Ash  Wednesday. Mrs Willam called Moala, Krystal, Melenaite, Maraia, mele, Xaiver, Taniela, sione and I had to go down stairs for 5 miniutes. We went down stairs and our soul friends gave a present, Mrs Willams told us to go and take a picture and when we all toke a picture she said to go together as a group and take a poicture and we did. In the Article ‘' America's Cup begin by KiwiKids News. The main person or group of people in this news article is Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rosa ( Italy ) sailing teams. The key event from the news article is that on 10th of MArch it was beginning of the america’s Cup races. The day ended with both teams winning a race each. New zealand won the first race by 31 seconds and in the second race italy won by 7 seconds. This Event took place in Auckland, New Zealand on the Waitemata Harbour.

The America’s Cup started in 1851 did you know that the america’s cup sailors earned $300,000. 

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Drawing # 1 Term 1 2021

 Yesterday, the 9th of March Te Wairua Pakiki 4 ( TWP 4 ) did some art that is based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art. ( Who is Pablo Picasso? 

In Cubism you can play around with lots of shapes. The facial features like your eyes, nose, mouth and ears can be in diffrent shapes and places. Our teacher said" Cubism  is that it looks as if the painting dropped and craked, and rearranged when put back together." When we looked at pictures we noticed  that their were lots of shapes and the parts of it's face were big and small were small also their were lots of different colours. After our teacher demonstrated and we saw lots of examples it was our turn to draw. Step 1:

In pencil, draw your head, any shape will work. You can use a mirror or draw from your imagination.
Step 2:
Add your facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Try to use shapes you noticed in your discussion.
Step 3:
Add your hair. What lines can you use to look like hair?

International Womens Day Term 1 2021

On the 8th of March was International Womens Day. In our class we did an activity to challenge stereotypes and bias of bothe male and female roles within our socety. We first had to get into same gender groups. We then worte down the positives and challenges of the opposite gender. The boys wrote about the positives and challenges for females and the girls wrote about the positives and the challenges of being a male. 

After we came up with some ideas in our group we then joined our groups with the opposite gender. Something we noticed was that the two lists were very diffrent. Women had more challenges. For example women had lots of challenges around the expectations of raising and looking after the family. On the other hand, males had more positives. For example men can play and get paid professinally for sport, get to sleep in and are fathers.

We also said that a challenge for a male is that they have to provide for the family and have to always to be brave.

Something we learnt from this that males and females aren't considred equal in lots of aspects of life.

Great Big Hearing Test 2021 Term 1

 Today during our morning distance learning meeting we found out that this week is the ‘Great Big Hearing Check 2021’ Week. Triton Hearing is running a fundraising event and awareness champaign. This March, check your hearing for FREE to help raise awareness for hearing loss in New Zealand and we’ll donate $1 to National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
